This award is given annually to an outstanding advisor nominated by their chapter for service, leadership, and dedication to Alpha Lambda Delta.

2023-24 Advisor of the Year

Rasha Tawfik is the Director of the Academic Support Center (ASC) at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), where she plays a pivotal role in fostering academic success and student development. Rasha is a passionate advocate for students at all academic levels. She firmly believes in the power of diversity and the potential of every student when their strengths are nurtured. Her focus is on empowering students to help them reach their full potential, guiding them to expand their skills, and providing the necessary resources to succeed.

Before joining AUS, Rasha’s academic career began in her home city of Calgary, Alberta, where she spent almost two decades working at the University of Calgary. Her international upbringing as a ‘third-culture kid’ has shaped her approach to education, instilling a deep appreciation for diversity and its role in empowering students. This drives her commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive environments that promote success for all students.
