Alpha Lambda Delta’s Board of Directors has funded internship positions for the 2024-25 academic year. These internships require active engagement from ALD chapter advisors. It is expected that the work will also benefit the local chapters. The application for 2025-26 will be available in summer 2025.

 Internship Basics

  • Remote position (some campus attendance may be required)

  • Position runs concurrently with each institution’s academic calendar, starting with the first week of classes, and ending during finals week

  • 5 hours per week, flexible to the student’s schedule

  • $1,500 stipend payable at the end of each completed semester

  • Mandatory meetings include a half-hour weekly meeting with the intern, chapter advisor, and ALD HQ; and an hour-long bi-weekly meeting with all interns (chapter advisors optional) and ALD HQ

  • Internships can be full year or one semester; full year is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an active undergraduate member of an ALD chapter

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once

  • Ability to be self-motivated to work independently and also as part of a team with a collaborative attitude; ability to take initiative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Instagram, Canva/Adobe Creative Cloud, Slack, Microsoft Suite, and/or Google Suite


Internship Job Descriptions

Below is a list of the available positions with possible projects each intern would work on. A finalized list of projects/responsibilities will be agreed upon between ALD HQ, the chapter advisor, and the intern based on the students’ interest. In general, each intern will manage one weekly social media campaign and 2-3 projects per semester. Interns must be able to work independently to research information, generate ideas, present ideas, and accept constructive feedback. One position is available for each area.

Conference Intern (Event Planning)

*This position is for the fall semester only; Fall Leadership Conference and virtual Fall Leadership Summit attendance is required.

  • Assist with programmatic planning for the Leadership Conference and Leadership Summit​, including session, timing, formats, and facilitation.

  • Assist with content development for sessions, including brainstorming topics and soliciting presenters​.

  • Assist ALD HQ with event logistics and planning, including room setups, catering, and registration.

  • Serve as on-site event assistance and a co-liaison between the facility and Headquarters staff.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) & Service Project Intern

  • Design, create content, and manage a social media campaign focused on DEIB and the ALD HQ Service Project theme for 2024-25. 

  • Research what ALD chapters are doing in regard to DEIB programming, services, collaborations, and best practices; create a “who does what” resource compendium. 

  • Gain an understanding of what ALD offers at the international level and make recommendations for improving resources offered. 

  • Research what colleges and universities are doing in regard to DEIB programming and gather resources and best practices. 

  • Create a video addressing DEIB initiatives and how chapters can better support diversity. Create a video highlighting how ALD currently supports diversity.

  • Generate programming ideas and resources for the ALD HQ Service Project theme for 2024-25.

Marketing & Communications Intern

  • Design, create content, and manage one of the social media campaigns.

  • Research best practices of what other chapters are doing in regard to programming, service, academics, and inductions.

  • Gain an understanding of what ALD offers both on campus and at the international level. 

  • Build graphic design skills by assisting with reworking publications or promo items.

  • Create videos and assist in expanding ALD’s video presence and Instagram Reels.

  • Create and implement a marketing plan to chapters about ALD HQ’s offerings and resources.

  • Research and develop resources for one of ALD’s five pillars: Academics, Scholarships, Service, Career Development, and Belonging.

  • Assist with a website audit to see where our site is performing well, where improvements/edits need to be made, and make recommendations for increasing user experience.

Membership Engagement Intern

  • Research best practices of what other chapters are doing in regard to recruiting new members and communicating with invitees.

  • Gain an understanding of what ALD offers both on campus and at the international level.

  • Design, create content, and manage one of the social media campaigns.

  • Assist ALD HQ in identifying ways to best market ALD to invitees and work on projects to utilize those marketing techniques.

  • Create videos targeting invited members and assist in expanding ALD’s video presence and Instagram Reels.

  • Co-facilitate chapter and general online information sessions.

  • Assist ALD HQ in helping chapters improve yield of invited members, increasing overall membership numbers.

  • Assist ALD HQ with alumni outreach and engagement.
